MARINE LAND ANIMAL TRAINER QUITS OVER BAD CONDITIONS

After 12 years of working at Marineland as an animal trainer, I made the difficult decision to quit and speak out about the deplorable conditions and neglect I witnessed. I saw dolphins living in extremely poor quality water, their skin flaking off in chunks, and six out of seven harbour seals becoming blind or suffering severe eye damage. A baby beluga named “Skoot” died last month after being attacked by other belugas in a pool she should have never been forced into.

Many people are appalled. Many are calling for Marineland to be closed, however what most don’t know is that Ontario has no laws controlling aquariums and zoos, or protecting the animals inside. Without those laws no one will be able to save the animals of Marineland.

I’m asking Premier Dalton McGuinty’s Government to pass a new law that will regulate a high standard of care for animals in aquariums and zoos, and will provide an opportunity to close places like Marineland when they don’t comply. During the past 20 years there have been many attempts to help the animals at Marineland, but these attempts have never turned into real Government action.

I’m also asking Marineland owner John Holer to allow me to visit Smooshi the Walrus who depends on me for care.

Please sign and share so this can never happen again at Marineland or anywhere else.

It’s time we speak for the animals!

CLAUDE JUTRAS PARK PRINCE ARTHUR CORNER CLARK

There is a little park on the corner of Prince Arthur and clark named in honor of Claude Jutra.Who was Claude Jutra?
Claude Jutra (March 11, 1930 – November 5, 1986) was a Canadian actor, film director and writer. The Prix Jutra are named in his honor because of his importance in Quebec cinema history. He was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec.

Claude Jutra was born in Montreal, Quebec and graduated as a medical doctor at the age of 24, before turning to his first love, the cinema. In 1954 he went to work at the National Film Board of Canada where he trained in all facets of filmmaking. In 1958 he went to France to work with François Truffaut and Jean Rouch.

With financing and production provided by the National Film Board of Canada, Jutra co-wrote and directed the acclaimed 1971 film Mon oncle Antoine as well as directing several cinema verite shorts such as La lutte and The Devil’s Toy. He also co-directed with Norman McLaren and starred in the pixilation short A Chairy Tale.

In 1984, he was awarded the Prix Albert-Tessier, given to individuals for an outstanding career in Québec cinema.

Jutra was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease in the early 1980s. He died, an apparent suicide, in 1986. His body was found in the St. Lawrence River some months after he disappeared, with a note in his pocket reading “I Am Claude Jutra

THANKS TO CANADIAN IMMIGRATION FOR KEEPING MOROCCO OUT OF THE BEACH SOCCER GAME

That was a brilliant idea to keep the Moroccan team out of Canada. That will help us to have a better showing. If you could have done the same to the Russian & Brazilian teams.,Canada would have had a chance to win.You should have done the same to the Russian junior hockey team ,last year in Vancouver. Then Canada would have won the world cup. What would have been even better, would have been ,to have a special unit of CSIS formed,to encourage the young Russians to defect and we would get some great new hockey players, without having to invest in their training.
